What is keyboard rollover?
Rollover is how many keys your keyboard can report as held at the same time. Cheap membrane boards often stop at three or four, most gaming keyboards manage six because of a USB limit, and NKRO boards report every key at once.
Why do some of my keys not register together?
That is key blocking, sometimes called ghosting. On boards with limited rollover, certain combinations share wiring and the keyboard drops one of them. It matters most for movement plus jump plus crouch in games.
Can I use this to check a broken key?
Yes. Press every key in turn and each one lights up and stays lit, so anything that never lights is not reaching the browser. A few keys are reserved by the browser or operating system and cannot be captured on a web page.
Does this test measure my skill?
No. Rollover is a property of your keyboard, not of you. It is a hardware check, and the leaderboard for it is a leaderboard of keyboards.
